Our Mat Pilates classes develop strength and endurance through the body, especially the core and lumbo-pelvic region. We challenge movement in all planes to ensure that your muscles are lengthening and toning three dimensionally.
These Mat Pilates classes are scaled to cater for all different fitness levels, there will always be an easier modification for those that are new to pilates or one might need to modify the exercise from a postural point of view. We will be there to assist and correct you if need be to make sure you are getting the most benefit from the exercises.
Using your own bodyweight on the mat or the addition of props makes matwork one of the most challenging classes, we use props to help facilitate a movement or increase the challenge of the exercises.
Props used during classes: weights, mini-flex balls, arc barrels, booty bands, fitness circles, flex bands, foam rollers, sliding discs, stability balls, stability cushions, toning balls.
NB If you have any injuries it is advisable to start with our intro package.
YOUR FIRST CLASS
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your first class so that we can familiarise you with the studio and the equipment.
Bring along a pair of Pilates socks, or purchase in Studio
Please wear workout gear that is comfortable to move around in. We recommend a tank top or T-shirt and form fitting leggings or shorts.
Stay hydrated! Be sure to drink water before, during and after your class to stay hydrated.
